“True terror is to wake up one morning and discover that your high school class is running the country.” ― Kurt Vonnegut

I have no clue if any of my classmates from KHS are political leaders of any kind but, I might find out in a few weeks.  I recently opened a message from an old high school friend with news of our upcoming reunion.  Nothing makes you feel old like seeing 20 Years in print, bold and increased font size due to vision changes associated with age.

I loved high school.  It was a social experience for me and I had a blast. The work was fairly easy so I spent my nights choosing outfits for the week rather than doing homework.  I had lots of great friends and participated in numerous activities.  I did not do a great job to keeping in touch with these people when I moved on to college.  A few that were close likely still are in my life.

A few years ago when I reluctantly joined Facebook, it was like a high school reunion everyday.  I would get requests from people and hit accept.  Sometimes it would take a bit of time for me to figure out how I actually knew some of these folks, some of them I am still unsure.  My good friends from high school think that I have had some type of brain injury since it is so difficult for me to recall faces and names.

I was on a family vacation for 10 year reunion.  Several friends called to tell me about it and said that my name came up a few times so I might be receiving more friend requests from "the forgotten".  And, I did.

Regardless of all of this information, I have this event in a few weeks and I am trying to decide if I want to go or not.  I reviewed the RSVP list and once again, about 25% of the names sound familiar.  It would be fun so what the heck?

Now my only issues are what to wear and to take a date (and expose them to what could be a terribly embarrassing evening for me) or go alone.  Oh me, oh my, so many choices.  I keep thinking about that movie, Romy and Michele's High School Reunion.  That was painful to watch, ouch.  I don't think that it would be that bad but again, I would never attempt to claim that I was the inventor of the Post It Note!

In the meantime, set a drift on memory bliss....
